Life can be funny. You've heard it, you know it is true. From one year to the next things can change so drastically that you look at your life now and ask, "Where the eff did that come from?" If you had told me six months ago that I would stop eating processed foods, be happy with my weight, and stop looking for a boyfriend, then the last six months may have been significantly different...if I had believed you.
This blog isn't about me. Well, it is, because I'm writing it. But it's primarily about my search for the perfect condo, and about the processes of buying, getting inspiration for, remodeling, and living in a condo altogether. Here's the skinny:
My budget is $50k with no more than $200 in HOA fees (this will keep my monthly payments including PITI around $600, which is what I pay for my gross apartment right now).
I will be doing as much of the updating and repairs as I can on my own.
I will be paying cash for everything except the mortgage.
I will be posting inspirational posts and images to document the decision-making process.
Why?
There are a lot of good apartment blogs out there, very good ones in my opinion, but over time they seem to putter out and I'm left looking for new inspiration and ideas. What better way to mitigate the waning small home decor forces than by starting my own blog, and adding to my portfolio of editorial clips in the process?
So scroll up (I'll be posting my second post today just to keep things rolling), live vicariously through the Urbane Condo as I buy and remodel my own condo.
